Striped Fiesta

Fiestaware was produced in for a limited time with stripes. There is no information about who was the decorator that came up with the design. It was produced around 1944 to 1946, but no exact information is know. In the last few years, striped Fiesta has been produced and is easier to find.

Rare Sears Fiesta Striped Plate

Fiesta with stripes has been seen in various pieces such as salt and pepper shakers, bowls, covered casserole, 5 piece relish tray, fruit compote, footed salad bowl and tripod candle holders, and a few other pieces.

As far as anyone knows, the striped pieces were only produced in red stripes or blue stripes applied to ivory pieces. The glazed pieces are resistant to wear and very rare.

It is possible to find some pieces with overglaze stripes on the rim and inside the band of rings. These types worn easily due to being painted over the glaze and are not usually valuable.

There were striped pieces made for Sears that had green or red stripes. These were sold as one cake plate with 4 little plates, or one cake plate with 6 little plates. One of these plates is shown above.  These are very rare and seldom seen but if you find one you have really found something worth showing off and passing down to the next generation.

I have never run across these striped plates, but still hope to find them someday at a garage sale or flea market where someone doesn’t know what they have.
