Fiestaware Prices Like Stock Market

UPDATE: 2019.   Fiesta prices will always go up and down like the stock market.  If the market is doing well, people feel secure and feel like they have extra money to spend so prices go up.  When the stock market goes down, money is tight and stop buying so  prices go down. Vintage Fiesta is still affordable but going up in price in 2019.  There are still good bargains to be found though.  I have seen limited edition pieces going for less than $100 this week.  Of course there will always be the occasional crazy garage sale find.  I saw a post on Facebook yesterday from a woman that picked up a large raspberry anniversary bowl and a Fiesta vase for $.15 each.  Yes, she got both pieces for $.30!    That kind of find is probably a once in a life time find, but they are still out there.  Often when an older person passes away, the family doesn’t realize what they have.  As far as an investment, vintage Fiesta will never be a huge return on investment.  Only very limited edition contemporary pieces would probably be worth investing in.  As always, you should always collect what you like.  Then it will always be important – to you.  It is better to have a $20 piece you love and want to show off than a $200 piece that you don’t care about that sits on a shelf.

The bad news for people selling fiestaware is that fiesta is selling at garage sales, online, and everywhere we have checked at much lower prices than in the past.
The good news is that it is a good time for collectors to buy. Just as the stock
market will be going back up, so will fiestaware. If you have the money to invest, there will always be a market for for some pieces. Vintage Fiestaware, colors that were discontinued early, like medium green, and pieces that were made in small numbers will always be good buys.
