As post 1986 Fiesta expanded their line to bring on new products, it was inevitable that they would add the Fiesta Flatware line. Flatware was not available in the original vintage Fiesta line. A Press Release was put out announcing the addition. “The Homer Laughlin China Company now offers colored-handle stainless steel flatware to complement its dinnerware. “ Going on “The flatware will complement the art deco styling of Fiesta, and its available in all the nine colors: white, black, rose, apricot, cobalt, blue, yellow, turquoise, periwinkle blue, and sea mist green. The colored handles are sculpted with two flowing lines that create a mirror image on either side of the stainless body. The fastening is done without rivets for a clean, more formal look. The place setting will consist of one each, soup spoon, dessert spoon, salad fork, dinner fork, and butter knife. Completer service pieces are also part of the line”
Fiesta Flatware History
The Fiesta flatware is produced by Stanley Rovert’s Inc in New Jersey. As new colors of Fiesta were added to the line, corresponding fiesta flatware was also added. It wasn’t long before persimmon, gray, scarlet, sunflower, juniper, lilac, and others were added. For a few years, Christmas Fiesta flatware, sold in a white tin box, was added, then discontinued in 1999.
As popularity grew, additional flatware styles were added and place settings were offered in more choices.
The price of the Fiesta flatware remains low. A 5 piece set runs about $15. A 5 piece hostess set or utensil set costs about $30.00. The flatware is available in department stores that offer Fiesta and Ebay.
