Yellow Fiesta Plate With Red Stripes

I received a question from Jerry, an auctioneer that has 6 yellow fiesta plates with red stripes. They have the fiesta logo on the back.

I believe these plates were sold by Sears as a cake set in the early 1940’s (1942-1944) . A set was made up of a 10″ plate and either four or eight 7″ plates. There were green or maroon stripes on ivory or yellow plates. The stripes were cold painted on after the plate was fired and glazed so they don’t wear as well as if the stripe was on before being fired.  You wouldn’t want to put these in the dishwasher. The most sought after is the red stripes on the ivory.  This yellow with red stripes is also a great find.  Finding them in great condition is rare. They are stamped on the back “GENUINE fiesta HLCo USA.  The one is the picture is 9 inches in diameter.

There was a 10 inch plate, meant to put the cake on, and either 4 or 6 plates were sold with the cake plate as a 5 or 7 piece set.

These are considered fairly rare and the money value of them should be about 3 to 5 times the value of other plates produced around the same time.

There were two early style striped plates, one with green stripes and one with red, but both colors of stripes were put on ivory pieces, not on yellow pieces.

Have some yellow with medium green stripes. I never knew what the set consisted of. Did know it was made for Sears and Roebucks. The stripes in mine have not worn at all. Would love to get an idea of value. How do I upload pictures?
    Thanks.
