Do you have an old turquoise bowl that you think is fiestaware but it says “Betty Crocker” on the bottom?
I receieved this email from a woman asking about her bowl:
“I am very curious to find out any information on a turquoise bowl marked Betty Crocker on the bottom. I have run out of places to search and thought that this page might be my last hope. If you need a picture, I would be very happy to send it to you. Thank you ”
This was my reply: These turquoise bowls were made for General Mills by Homer Laughlin during 1941-42. Later on Betty Crocker offered a contemporary version in their catalog (available until 2006) with the newer Fiesta colors such as sunflower, etc. The bowls were made exclusively for Betty Crocker, but without the Fiesta logo. The 2 bowls shown are the more recent Betty Crocker Fiesta bowls.
No, it isn’t “fiesta” but it was made by Homer Laughlin. Just like Harlequin was made by Homer Laughlin. Sounds like you have the original pre-war one. There weren’t many made and I’m sure many were broken through the years, so it should be worth some good money.
Any of you have any idea how much one of these original bowls be be worth? Any additional information?
