Homer Laughlin Kitchen Kraft

Kitchen Kraft Jar

Kitchen Kraft Jar

In 1939 the Homer Laughlin Company (Fiestaware) introduced a bake-and-serve line called Kitchen Kraft as an extention to the fiestaware pottery line.

The original peices included covered jars, a pie plate, and cake plate, salt and pepper shakers, mixing bowls, cake servers, covered jug, refrigerator set and 6 and 9 inch plates.

The original colors were red, yellow, green, and blue.

This Fiesta Kitchen Kraft line was discontinued around late 1944 to early 1945.

The 6 and 9 inch plates were used as underplates for the casseroles so they were thinner gauge and the style was not typical for fiestaware.

If you find any of these pieces in ivory, you have a very rare find. They are said to exist, but ivory was never listed as a color that was made.

There were two different trademarks put onto the Fiesta Kitchen Kraft pieces. I will try to find a picture of them to put up.

I have a covered jug, Kitchen Kraft in pure ivory. Unfortunately there isn’t a lid and I am wondering about the piece. Is it still valuable? It is in fairly decent shape except for some overall but nice crazing which in one area around the lip has extended into what appears to be a crack but is only in the glaze level.

Thanks and what a neat line of dishes this is…I’ve been looking for the type of thing I want to use and think this stuff is really boss.

    Peace

    Meg
