FIESTA® – Antique Gold or Yellow

Antique Gold with signature

Fiesta yellow cup
Collectors,
I received a question from a new collector asking about how to tell yellow from
antique gold. She knew it wasn’t sunflower yellow. The original post was lost,
but I wanted to repeat the answer.
The vintage yellow fiestaware is a much lighter and softer color, like butter color.
It will probably have a signature on the back.
The antique gold is much darker and is definately more of a gold than a yellow.
It has some brown base in the gold. The gold was Homer Laughlin Ironware and
didn’t have a signature on it due to the company trying to save money.
I couldn’t find a side-by side picture, but I do have plenty of vintage yellow and
have included some pictures.

I am trying to fgiure out all the different pieces Fiesta made in Lilac. Did they make a Demi coffee pot? Is there a list somewhere?

I made a purchase of gold Fiestaware in the 1960′s. Have coffee cups and mugs, saucers, salad plates, salt and pepper shaker, dinner plates, etc. It is not a complete set and was purchased when a friend was ordering red for her newly opened restaurant. The cups so far as I have unpacked, have five rings. Plan to sell the dishes and would like some approximate value of them?
